Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park Planning Objection Success

Planning Application Withdrawn

We’re pleased to report a successful outcome following the withdrawal of a planning application for the erection of a new dwellinghouse and the formation of a new access within a small rural settlement in Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.

Our objection raised strong concerns regarding the impact on the established rural settlement pattern and the introduction of inappropriate backland development, specifically:

• Erosion of the area’s dispersed rural character through piecemeal infill

• Creation of a tandem/backland plot, lacking frontage or relationship to the existing built form

• Conflict with National Park policies that aim to guide sustainable, place-based growth

• Negative precedent for further incremental development in sensitive rural contexts

We argued that the proposal did not respect the spatial structure or development pattern of the village and failed to align with the National Park’s design and place-making principles. Following our representation, the applicant chose to withdraw the application before determination.
