Planning Application Withdrawn

We’re pleased to report a successful outcome following the withdrawal of a planning application for the installation of glamping pods in the Scottish Borders.

The proposal raised several material concerns, and our professionally prepared objection highlighted:

• No drainage strategy or foul water disposal details, despite the rural nature of the site

• Potential loss or damage to existing trees along the site boundary

• Failure to assess or mitigate impacts on local biodiversity, including habitat disruption and landscape change

• Inadequate documentation that left key environmental and amenity issues unaddressed

Our objection made it clear that the submission lacked the technical detail and environmental safeguards required for such development. The omission of drainage information and the absence of a tree or ecology survey were particularly serious, especially in a rural setting with known environmental sensitivity.

As a result of these deficiencies—and our targeted planning response—the applicant chose to withdraw the application before it reached determination.
