Planning Application Withdrawn

We’re pleased to share a successful outcome following the withdrawal of a planning application for a timber garden outbuilding within a conservation area in Stirling.

Acting on behalf of a local resident, we submitted a detailed objection raising serious concerns about the proposal’s impact on the setting of a nearby listed building and the wider character of the conservation area.

Key issues identified included:

• Inappropriate scale, design, and materials for a sensitive heritage location

• Visual intrusion affecting the setting of the listed building

• Failure to demonstrate compliance with Stirling’s heritage and conservation policies

• Lack of contextual assessment to justify the development within its historic setting

We argued that the outbuilding would result in unacceptable harm to the character and appearance of the conservation area, contrary to both local and national heritage policy. Following submission of our objection, the applicant withdrew the application prior to determination. his positive outcome reflected the strength of the structured, policy-grounded objection in highlighting legitimate planning concerns and encouraging reconsideration.
